At the Teaching Innovation and Learning Enhancement Network – TILE Network – we invite engaging speakers to talk about teaching, learning, and education. People from around the globe join our talks. Our mission is to connect all educational sectors (from early education to higher education) through our speaker series and we aim to highlight a broad variety of topics related to education.

We are currently putting together our TILE programme for the academic year 2024-25 and are looking for speaker nominations. As always we want different topics to be represented, e.g., mental health, generative AI, best practice in assessment and feedback, decolonising the curriculum, LGBTQ matters, teaching delivery strategies,…just to name a few.

Feel free to submit your speaker nominations below (self-nominations welcome). All our talks are held online, recorded, and made available to all. Talks are usually 1 hour long and we ask speakers to plan for 40-45 minutes of input and some time for questions. In the past, we had talks with or without slides – depending on what works best for the content. A talk can be given by one or more speakers – as a more traditional presentation or a round-table-like discussion. So, the format is up to the speaker and can be adjusted as they see fit. We are currently working on obtaining funding for speakers to deliver their sessions.

TILE Schedule for 2024-25:
There is not one designated day when TILE talks take place. We have a designated week each month and then pick the day that works best for the speaker. TILE talks are usually scheduled for 4PM (UK time) and take place on Zoom. However, we are happy to accommodate a different time if that works better with the speaker’s time zone.
